ChatGPT Go costs $8 a month in the US, and ₹399 a month at its standard price in India, as of Nov 6, 2026. It is the cheapest paid plan of ChatGPT: it keeps the Free plan's models but raises the limits on uploads, images, voice, data analysis and memory, and doubles the context window. It is also the only paid plan that may show ads. OpenAI describes it as "a low-cost subscription plan with expanded access to ChatGPT features" (What is ChatGPT Go?).

What does ChatGPT Go include?
Go includes everything in the Free plan and, on the chatgpt.com/pricing card read Nov 6, 2026, adds "More messages with tools", more uploads, more image creation, more voice chats and longer memory. The help article lists higher limits for image generation, file uploads and advanced data analysis, a larger context window, and access to projects, tasks and Library (What is ChatGPT Go?).

OpenAI publishes no message or image counts for Go. When Go went worldwide in January 2026, OpenAI said it gave "10x more messages, file uploads and image creation than the free tier" (Introducing ChatGPT Go); that was before Free got unlimited text chats in August 2026, and the multiplier has not been restated since.
Which model does Go use?
The same as Free. Go has no model picker and no GPT-5.6 Sol: "Think uses GPT-5.6 Luna. ChatGPT Go does not include GPT-5.6 Sol" (What is ChatGPT Go?). Legacy models such as GPT-4o are not on Go either. OpenAI's pages disagree on which Luna is the default in Chat: the pricing table and the Oct 7, 2026 release note say GPT-6 Luna, the help articles updated in November 2026 say GPT-5.6 Luna (GPT-6 and other models in ChatGPT). For GPT-6 Sol in Chat, you need ChatGPT Plus.
Voice on Go
The ChatGPT Voice help article gives Go up to 3 hours of GPT-Live-1.1 Quip in a rolling 24 hours, and the pricing page marks Go's voice as "Expanded" with video. The Go help article, however, says voice comes "with the same usage limits as the Free tier" (What is ChatGPT Go?). Both are OpenAI pages read on Nov 6, 2026; the voice article is the more specific. Codex and ChatGPT Work on Go
Go has limited Codex and ChatGPT Work in the ChatGPT desktop app, the same as Free: GPT-6 Luna at Standard speed (learn.chatgpt.com), with GPT-5.6 Terra also offered in Codex. Codex Cloud is not included, and buying credits on Go is "currently available to a limited group" (Using credits).
Ads on Go
Go is the only paid plan that may show ads: OpenAI has tested and rolled out ads to Free and Go users since Feb 9, 2026, in 89 countries by Oct 21, 2026. The Free plan lets you turn ads off in exchange for fewer messages, but "Ads-Free is not offered on Go" (Ads in ChatGPT). The cheapest way to have no ads is Plus. See Ads in ChatGPT.
ChatGPT Go in India and other countries
OpenAI launched Go in India in August 2025, expanded it to 170 more countries, and on Jan 16, 2026 made it available "everywhere ChatGPT is available" (Introducing ChatGPT Go). Go pricing "is localized in some markets", but OpenAI publishes no country list of prices.
In India, OpenAI offered a free year of Go as a trial. After it, "The standard price is ₹399 per month"; continuation offers give a discounted price for 3 paid billing periods before the standard price applies (Go India trial renewals). Indian users can pay for Go and Plus with UPI (multicurrency billing).
Carriers and other partners also hand out Go promotions. Each subscriber can use one code, and some promotions are only for people who never had Go, Plus or Pro (Go promotions and referrals).
Billing, switching and canceling
Go is billed monthly; there is no annual Go plan. Purchases are in US dollars except in "a limited set of countries" with local currency billing (What is ChatGPT Go?). If you move down from Plus or Pro to Go, you get no refund: the current plan runs to the end of its cycle, then Go starts. Cancel through Settings > Billing > Cancel plan on chatgpt.com, or through Apple or Google Play if you subscribed in the app (Canceling your ChatGPT subscription).
Is ChatGPT Go worth it?
Go is worth $8 if Free's tool limits stop you most days, if you want a 54K token context window for longer documents, or if you want voice with video, and you can live with ads. It is not worth it if what you want is better answers to hard questions: Go has the same Luna models as Free, and the step to GPT-6 Sol is ChatGPT Plus at $20.
