What does ChatGPT Business include?

  • Models. GPT-6 Sol in Chat at every thinking level, and GPT-6 Pro, powered by GPT-6 Astra, in the Pro option; Business Standard and Premium seats share one allowance for GPT-6 Pro and GPT-5.6 Sol Pro (GPT-6 and other models in ChatGPT). Business keeps the "Higher intelligence" setting under Settings > General.
  • Work and Codex. Standard seats get the same five-hour local message estimates as Plus, such as 15 to 160 GPT-6.1 Sol messages and 5 to 45 GPT-6 Astra messages (learn.chatgpt.com). Premium seats can spend their full allowance on GPT-6 Astra (ChatGPT Work and Codex) and have no five-hour limit. Ultrafast is not offered on Business.
  • Dots. Always-on agents for eligible Business Premium users aged 18 or over since Sep 29, 2026 (release notes).
  • Voice. Standard seats get 3 hours of Live voice a day, Premium seats 15 hours, then 1.25 credits a minute (ChatGPT Voice).
  • Files and projects. 20 GB of Library storage per user (Library), 40 files per project (Projects) and 10 active scheduled tasks (Tasks).
  • Images and Space. Images with thinking (Images in ChatGPT) and ChatGPT Slides in ChatGPT Space (Oct 16, 2026, release notes).
  • Custom GPTs. Business workspaces could still build and share GPTs where an admin allowed it, but Custom GPTs retire on Dec 11, 2026 for most workspaces (Custom GPT retirement).

Data and privacy

OpenAI says it won't train its models on Business workspace data (ChatGPT Business overview). That is the main difference from a personal Plus or Pro account, where data sharing is on until you turn it off. Business includes SAML SSO and multi-factor authentication (learn.chatgpt.com). Larger controls such as SCIM, enterprise key management, role-based access, the Compliance API and data residency belong to ChatGPT Enterprise. See Privacy and Data Controls.

Credits and API credits

When seats run out of included usage, a Business workspace buys workspace credits (learn.chatgpt.com). OpenAI's rate card for Business, Enterprise and Edu credit pricing, as of Nov 6, 2026 (rate card):

Use Credits
GPT-6 Pro message 50
GPT-6 (Sol) message, Medium to Extra High 10
Agent mode message 30
Deep research task 50
Image generation 5
Voice 1.25 a minute
GPT-6.1 Sol in Work and Codex, per 1M tokens 50 input, 2.5 cached, 250 output

Instant messages are unlimited and cost no credits. ChatGPT Credits explains how credits work.

Separately, paid Business seats earn API credits for the OpenAI API: $20 a month per paid Standard seat and $100 per paid Premium seat, pooled across the workspace and capped at $500 a month, or $6,000 per annual cycle when billed annually (API credits benefit). The API itself is not part of a Business subscription.

A Standard seat billed annually costs the same $20 as Plus and adds GPT-6 Pro, no training and API credits, but you need at least two seats and you commit for the year. For a solo user, Plus is cheaper; for two or more, Business is usually the better deal.

How to cancel ChatGPT Business

An owner cancels in Workspace settings > Billing > Manage plan > Cancel subscription (Canceling your ChatGPT subscription). Business seats are generally not refundable for the committed period (refund help).
