ChatGPT Space

ChatGPT Space, launched Sep 29, 2026, holds Pages (shared documents ChatGPT writes and edits with you), Slides (presentations, since Oct 16, 2026) and your files, replacing Library for the Pro, Business and Enterprise accounts that have it.

ChatGPT Space is "a home for your pages, uploaded files, and other work in ChatGPT" (OpenAI Help Center, read Nov 6, 2026): Pages are editable documents ChatGPT writes and edits with you and your collaborators, and Slides are presentations made the same way. Space arrived on Sep 29, 2026 with Pages, and Slides followed on Oct 16, 2026. Creating and editing need ChatGPT Pro, ChatGPT Business or ChatGPT Enterprise (OpenAI Help Center); on personal plans the pricing page lists Space for Pro only, as of Nov 6, 2026. Where it is on, Space replaces Library.

What are Pages?

A Page is "an editable document" such as a project brief or meeting notes (OpenAI Help Center). It can hold charts, trackers and interactive tools beside text. Several people can edit the same Page in real time, each with their own ChatGPT helping, and anyone can comment on a passage. In OpenAI's launch video, each editor's own chat with ChatGPT, and its sources, stays private to that person; the others see only the edits on the Page. Spaces hold folders and Pages, and a Page can hold subpages, which inherit its sharing.

Pages took over from canvas and from full-screen writing blocks as the place for longer documents: Canvas left the current models on May 28, 2026.

How do you create a Page?

  1. Start from a chat and ask ChatGPT to turn the answer or conversation into a Page, or write straight into Space, or pick a template on Space's home (OpenAI Help Center).
  2. Edit by typing, or ask ChatGPT to change the whole Page or one section.
  3. Select Share and give view or edit access.

Deleting a Page moves it and all its subpages to Trash, subpages that others own included.

What are ChatGPT Slides?

"ChatGPT Slides lets you create presentations and keep working on them with your team in Space" (release notes, Oct 16, 2026). To start one, ask ChatGPT in Work "to create a presentation in Space". Slides export to PowerPoint, PDF or Google Slides on the web. It is for eligible Pro, Business and Enterprise accounts with Space, and was still "rolling out to eligible accounts" on Nov 6, 2026 (OpenAI Help Center). For working inside a deck already in PowerPoint, the add-in in ChatGPT in Office is the other route, and it is on every plan.

OpenAI's page on ChatGPT for Teachers also lists Space among what verified US K-12 teachers get (OpenAI Help Center). In managed workspaces the organization's settings decide sharing, and Enterprise admins may need to switch sharing on first.

Space, Library and Projects

For accounts with Space, Space "takes the place of Library" (OpenAI Help Center): uploaded files live there with the Pages. Projects are unchanged and keep their own chats, files and instructions. Accounts without Space keep Library; see File Uploads and Library.

What is not published

The Space article read on Nov 6, 2026 gives no storage size, no limit on Pages or Slides, and no export options for Pages (OpenAI Help Center).
